Copy Cats Slot Review
Playable across all devices, NetEnt’s new Copy Cats slot is based on furry felines, rather than someone attempting to replicate something that you are doing, although these felines do have their own ‘copycat’ feature which can result in some rather pleasing wins. This is one of those slots where a small pun has been worked into the title in order to give the game a name and to describe one of the key features, but in this case, Copy Cats actually works rather nicely as we will discover when we review the main aspects of the slot in more detail.
The basics are that this is a 5×3 reel slot that has a total of 25 fixed paylines in play on each spin. The paylines are not selectable, but you can wager more than one coin on each payline by increasing the Level meter from 1 (1 coin) to 10 (1o coins) per payline. You can wager from £0.01 per coin up to £0.50 per coin by selecting the Coin Value meter and that gives you a minimum bet of £0.25 per spin and a maximum bet of £125 per spin.
It doesn’t take long to play to realise that Copy Cats is a low to medium variance game as you do win relatively frequently and there is a good mix of wins to enjoy within a typical session, however all the biggest value wins do lie in the bonus features and it is in triggering these that you’ll eventually access the bigger value wins on the slot. There’s a jaunty Jazz soundtrack accompanying you as you spin and all the hallmarks of a NetEnt slot are here with outstanding quality graphics, imaginative bonuses and of course, the chance to win a jackpot that could be worth as much as 2,000 coins. You can play the game right now at Bet365 Vegas.
Copy Cats Key Features
On the reels there are a number of different symbols. The lowest value symbols are the four different coloured paw-prints, which pay out between 5 coins to 25 coins per payline depending on how many you land across. There are three medium value symbol wins including a fish skeleton, a bottle of milk and a wind up mouse, which each offer 10 coins for 3 on a payline up to 75 coins for five on a payline for the wind up mouse.
The key symbols in this slot however are the Cat symbols and there are three standard Cat symbols, the blue, pink and red cats which offer payouts ranging from 15 coins to 200 coins. In the base game, each of these cats is stacked on the first reel and when you land a full stack of cats on that reel, then you launch the Copy Cat feature, which means that any of the other cat features that land on the second, third, fourth and fifth reels will change into the same symbol as on the first, which of course gives you a better chance of a bigger value win.
That’s not all though as there is a Golden Cat symbol which acts as the in game Wild. Not only can this symbol substitute for other high and low symbols to create additional payline wins across the reels, but it is also stacked on the first reel and if you land a full stack of the wild Golden Cat symbols, then it will turn all other cat symbols wild in the base game for that spin. This can result in some of the bigger multiple payline wins available in the base game.
The other key bonus feature of the slot is the Free Spins game which is triggered when you land three of the Cat’s Bell scatter symbols across the first, third and fifth reels on a single spin. When you achieve this you receive 10 free spins. During Free Spins you have another bonus operating for you in that all the stacked cat symbols on the first reel will be Wild symbols and they will turn other cat symbols into Wild symbols on the other reels when a stack is landed during the free spins bonus round.
Furthermore, you can retrigger a further 10 free spins by landing another three of the Cat’s Bell scatter symbols across the reels during your bonus round, giving you a chance to earn 20 free spins in total and maximise your returns on the slot.
