Get Our Big Tips for All The NFL Wildcard Weekend Games This Week

The regular season in the NFL came to an end last week and while teams like the Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals were left with heartbreak after missing out on the playoffs, a total of seven teams from each Conference did make it into the post-season and a dozen of those teams are in action this weekend as part of the first round of NFL Wildcard Matches.

The Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers locked up the number 1 ranking in each conference and both now have the chance to rest and recuperate over this week while the remaining six teams in their conference are in action. The action begins with three games on Saturday, with the final three games taking place on Sunday.

Wild Card Weekend is always one of the biggest for betting in the whole of the NFL season and with the expanded number of matches this weekend, from four to six, this means even more opportunity to enjoy a wager on each of the games. NFL Wildcard Weekend

The season record for each team is shown in brackets. Times shown are GMT.

Saturday 9th January 2020

  • Indianapolis Colts (11-5) @ Buffalo Bills (13-3) (6.05pm)

Is there a team as hot as the Buffalo Bills in the NFL right now? Not content with sweeping their division 6-0 for the first time in their history, the Bills finished as the AFC’s second seed behind the Chiefs and are on a fantastic run of form. Their 2nd ranked offense is also the third best passing offense in the NFL and they face a test against an Indianapolis Colts side that ranked 8th for defense and 10th for offense.

The Colts earned their playoff spot by virtue of Miami’s loss to Buffalo and the Colts win over the Jaguars. However they face a very tough task against a team that also beat them when the teams last met in August 2019, when the Bills ran out 24-16 winners.

Many people are predicting this may be the best game of Wildcard Weekend, but for me I think the Bills will claim the win in relative comfort. Take the Bills to win even at a -6.5 handicap (10/11), Over 52.00 points to be scored (10/11) and the Money line price on the bills is 10/31.

  • Los Angeles Rams (10-6) @ Seattle Seahawks (12-4) (9.40pm)

These two NFC West rivals have already met twice this season, with the Rams winning 23-16 on their home turf back in November, but Seattle running out 20-9 winners on Week 16 when the game was played in Seattle. The Rams have lost three of their last six games, while the Seahawks have won six of their last seven, form which saw the Seahawks claim the NFC West title.

For me this game hinges on how well the Rams defense will cope with the Seattle offense. Despite dominating time of possession and offensive stats in both their clashes, the Rams defense could not stop Seattle in that second game and struggled to do so in the first when they did claim a win. Stopping Russell Wilson is very tough and I think he will be the difference maker here,

Back the Seahawks to win (4/9) on the Moneyline but I think this will be a close one and with the Rams +4.5 in the Spread here, I’d take that option with the Under 42.5 points my choice in that other Game Line market.

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers (11-5) @ Washington Football Team (7-9) (1.15am Sun)

The final game on Sunday night (Monday morning in the UK) sees he fortunate Washington Football Team hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Washington are by far the weakest team left in the playoffs as their 7-9 record suggests but their defense gives them a fighting chance against Bruce Arians superstar-heavy Bucs.

The Tom Brady-led Bucs have won all their last four as Washington have stumbled into the post-season and of their five defeats this season, two have came against New Orleans, one against the Chiefs and the others against the Bears and Rams, all playoff teams.

As such, I think the Bucs win this one relatively comfortably as the handicap set at -8.5 points suggests. Even so, I’d back the Bucks here (10/11) go for under 45.5 points (10/11) and also take the Money Line shot at 2/9.

Sunday 10th January 2020

  • Baltimore Ravens (11-5) @ Tennessee Titans (11-5) (6.05pm)

Rated by the bookies as the closest contest of Wildcard Weekend, the Ravens start this game as the favourites despite not having home field advantage and despite losing to the Titans 24-30 back on Week 11.

Lamar Jackson is in great form at the moment though and that Titans defense has had huge problems all season stopping teams scoring, which will give Ravens hope that they can avenge their playoff loss to the Titans last season.

That won’t faze Mike Vrabel’s team who have blown hot and cold this season but who have one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. They beat the Ravens on both the last two occasions they have played them and I think the Titans can do it again here. Take the Titans to land a statement win at +3.5 (10/11), under 55 points to be scored in the game (10/11) and the Titans are 167/100 on the Money Line.

  • Chicago Bears (8-8) @ New Orleans Saints (12-4) (9.40pm)

Despite a 35-16 defeat to the Packers last week, Chicago earned a playoff spot by virtue of Arizona also losing last weekend to the Rams. They recovered well after losing five in a row from week six to record three wins in their last four games but there is no doubt that they are the massive underdogs here.

New Orleans Saints have had a couple of off days this season, notably against the Eagles on Week 14, but since then their offense has been pretty sharp and has scored 85 points in its last two games, even with Drew Brees not 100% fully fit after a rib injury earlier in the season.

The only way the Bears win this is by getting to Brees and pressuring him but that is easier said than done. Take the Saints to win this at -9.5 (10/11), for Over 48 points to be scored (10/11) and also the Saints are 1/5 in the Money Line.

  • Cleveland Browns (11-5) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4) (1.15am Mon)

Having met just last week, with the Browns narrowly winning against mostly a second-string Steelers team 24-22, it will be a first-choice Steelers outfit that takes to the field in this game and that could spell problems for a Browns team that have a 3-3 record against divisional opponents this season.

The Steelers will have benefitted from a weeks rest for their first choice players and with home field advantage, it is hard to see this Browns team having a chance, especially with some key players out through injury. However, if they can stop that Steelers offense early on, then the momentum in this game could well alter and I can see that happening.

The Browns are the +4.5 underdog here but I think they have a real chance. Take the Browns to land a shock win at +4.5 and 19/10 in the Money Line while go for Over 46.5 points to be scored in the game.
